I need your help in the movement to cure arthritis

Sometimes I cry when I look at these hands, my hands. Like when I can't button a button or open a bottle of soda pop. Or notice a stranger staring at them. If they only knew that arthritis doesn't just affect my hands, that it affects every joint in my body and zaps my energy level.

However, most of the time, I look at my hands and think how far I've come. Because after trying 19 different medications, I found the correct group of medications that help maintain a relatively pain- free life. If I would have been on these stronger medications earlier - my hands wouldn't show the affects of the disease. If only we had the resources back then to develop these man-made medications.

On occasions, I do still feel terrible pain and stiffness in these hands; so much that it hurts to pull a bed sheet off of me. There are days when my fingers are so swollen that they don't even look like fingers, more like polish sausages.

This is why I need your help. I'm raising money for the Arthritis Walk so that others won't have to feel the pain of arthritis.
